A standing desk in my classroom will increase engagement while allowing students to shift their bodies and change positions while staying focused. Having a standing desk in the classroom will help my students increase their creativity and help maintain their integrity of complex motor skills required for optimal physical function. My student's classroom behavior and management will improve while being able to maintain their attention during instruction. It is proven when students move more, their education improves. My students appear to feel happier when they are standing and able to move their legs and feet. Having a stand up desk within the classroom will give my students the opportunity to have their sensory needs met while focusing on content.
