With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level. My students need to build confidence reading independently. If they have books that are on their reading level they will become confident and more willing read on their own. This new-found confidence will push them to become life-long readers, and expose them to places and things they otherwise would never get to experience. They will learn about other civilizations, and imagine what it would be like to live in a different time period. This one spark can create a desire to read everything they can.
