Kindergarten students enter my classroom eager to learn! My goal is to provide a classroom that ignites their creativity and their love of learning! Five and six year olds learn to cooperate and problem solve through play and hands on experiences. I want to provide as many opportunities for my students to be innovative learners. The use of learning centers in my classroom provide students with hands on experiences across the curriculum. This project will provide students with materials that integrate STEM into literacy, reading and math. They will explore challenges and work toward finding various solutions. Students will become engineers as they discover how to use STEM with their favorite fairy tales. They will build a boat that floats for the gingerbread man to cross the river, they will create and test bridge designs for the Three Billy Goats Gruff. These are just a few of the STEM focused story activities that will help bring the books to life and provide for learning through experience. The STEM activities and kits will provide my students with creative ways to problem solve.
