This incredible Life Science project will provide students the opportunity to watch and learn first hand the life cycle of a living thing - chickens. As a STEM Magnet school, this project aligns and reinforces Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core standards. Students will engage scientific principles through research, direct observations, data collection, predicting outcomes and graphing results. We hope for an egg incubator, hen house, heat lamp, and food and water set to allow students to study the life cycle of the chicken. Students will be given the hands-on opportunity to observe, right before their very eyes, from start to finish an actual animal life cycle! Students will learn the importance and responsibility of care and monitoring of the eggs and chicks. Students will reap the intrinsic rewards that come from the knowledge that through their care the baby chicks thrive and grow. This project will provide students a unique experience that they will remember for a lifetime!
