My students are active young people, yet they have to sit for long periods of time. I would like to give these children the opportunity to move and be kids even while having to sit for periods of time. Reading and writing take time to cultivate, most of the time students are sitting still to complete these tasks. Students would benefit from having stability balls to complete their assignments. With stability balls and stools, students can move while still being in a "seat". I have some reluctant writers who stand and move around to help them think. Having alternative seats would improve anxiety, make learning fun and everyone would be able to find a comfortable seat.
