The students will learn the events of track and field. Many students don't realize that there is more to track and field than just running. I'm requesting turbo javelins, practice shot puts, and discus to learn how to throw these throwing implements. The foam discus and javelins are to learn the basics and the actual ones are to use in a competition. Not only will we go over the running events, but we will also learn long jumps, discus, shot put and javelin. It will be great to introduce students to these events so when they get to high school they can choose to join the track and field team. Track and field is a sport that works for everyone. This is because there are so many events that there is something anyone can enjoy. Since there are so many events, there are multiple lessons I can teach these students. I would start out teaching students the skills involved in the events and spend time on that. Once the students are successful, I would love to put on a track meet for these students.
