The overall health and wellness of my students is of the utmost importance. This equipment will introduce new ways to be active while having fun. We focus a lot on fitness in our daily routine. I have a fitness unit where my students use the weight room. Along with weights, we also have cardiovascular equipment. The students are taught a properly designed program for their age level and taught how to use all the equipment safely. The stepper and stationary cycle will provide both cardiovascular and muscular strength and endurance which will improve their fitness level. I also teach a lot of special needs students with various disabilities. They will also use this equipment to strengthen their bodies and it can be used as a decompressing tool in stressful situations. When I was their age I had outstanding teachers and coaches that got me interested in making exercise a life long habit and I want to do the same for my students. This is my first project with Donor's Choose and I couldn't be more excited to get some much needed equipment for the amazing students that I get the pleasure of teaching every day!
