My students are brilliant Kindergarten to 8th graders. They come from an urban city in Illinois, and attend the local public elementary school. They are all students of color and receive free lunch and breakfast. Many of our students begin the year significantly below grade level, so it is our job, as well as our duty, to do everything I can to ensure they are meeting grade level standards by the end of the year.
