The silicone bracelets will be utilized as part of a Mix it Up at Lunch event the freshman are hosting as part of a project based learning of Social Injustice through reading ,"To Kill a Mockingbird" Students will issue bracelets to vendors and visitors based on things they have in common (i.e. if you are from another state other than North Carolina you would get a green bracelet). This is part of a campaign to promote conversations among strangers of different cultures in order for them to realize we all have more in common than we thought. During this event, the students will also be highlighting and presenting their presentation on what the student body can do about various social justice issues such as domestic violence, bullying, and access to education.
