Our students have stepped up to the challenge of recovery, rebuilding and stepping up for one another. Many have lost homes, friends and have been through more than they should at such an early age. Budget money for high school sports teams are shrinking annually. The items I am requesting for the basketball programs will go a long way to allowing us to spend limited budget money on other items such as uniforms. By providing the SKLZ D-Man defensive mannequins, it will give our low-income students access to new training tools that will help improve their skills. The mannequins will help our students learn to shoot or pass over, or around the hands-up defending position. We can use the multiple D-Men to practice dribbling, driving, and positioning with a defender. They can be used for solo practice or a team setting. Another benefit to this project, would be for our students to receive the Slipp-Nott Boards. Most of our students do not have access or able to purchase top of the line shoes. These boards would allow our students to improve their traction, increase their safety, confidence, and maneuverability of the entire team just by walking on a Slipp-Nott board. Thank you for your help.
