Good readers are good thinkers and research shows that good thinkers have great executive skills, which are mental skills to manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to achieve their goals. With my at-risk students, success is something that has to be worked with faithfully and attained in various manners. My students need diverse learning techniques to conquer reading and math gaps and interruptions. Trying to close academic difficulties is vital for my students. The typical process that involves in closing the academic gaps can be pretty mundane in our class. Therefore, I would love for my students to develop their executive skills by playing exciting games! These games will help promote the 6 essential skills involved in developing executive skills: planning, organization, cognitive flexibility, working memory, inhibitory control, and social understanding. Challenges with a certain skill is something that can be overcome when fun and interactive activities await them. Students will be able to close their gaps and be one step closer to achieving their goals through playing fun games. Also at the same time, they will be able to build the mental skills they need to properly manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors which will in turn help them not only academically, but in their overall life. Your donation will help reach and increase students' overall achievement and student success. Thank you very much!
