In order to better focus on our reading group discussions, my students need a sturdy and comfortable table to use, like the kidney dry-erase table we are requesting. Currently, we are using an uneven round table that I have put dry-erase contact paper on. My students need to have a solid work-space that they can use to write down summaries, vocabulary words to know, as well as use the reading strategies that I am teaching them within our instructional time. They all love to have the opportunity and challenge to "race" to write down important details in the text we are reading together and answer questions on the surface of the table. Our current contact paper, however, is peeling and the surface is scratched so students need a smooth writing surface in order to write legibly. We would all be grateful to have a reading group table that is efficient, comfortable, and allows students to have a work-space that can help me track their reading closer.
