Headphones are needed in our classroom for students to listen to reading on their devices. Many of our students do not have headphones and are not able to listen to their reading on their devices. What are the benefits of listening to reading? Listening to reading models good interpretive reading, teaches critical listening, introduces new vocabulary or difficult names, and it also introduces our readers to books above their reading level. The more that you read, the more things you will know-Dr. Seuss. Providing headphones to our first graders will open them up to a world of opportunity as they listen to examples of good reading.
