Singing is the foundation of music education. Students in my classroom are always singing, and as a teacher I am always looking for new ways to make my wonderful students voices heard. Presently, students learn all of their music either a capella or singing along with singing tracks provided by publishing companies. As a teacher, I have piano skills that would contribute greatly to student´s growth as singers and musicians in general. I believe that students need the assistance of a piano to hear their pitches and use a live accompaniment that can follow their voices instead of their voices following a CD. I also believe that students need to be able to use music stands to hold their sheet music so their body is free and relaxed while their developing muscles are being trained to stand, sing, and move properly.
