I would like to have a large area rug to create a designated space where my firsties know to go for our whole group lessons. The rug would also be used during stations as a reading area. Teaching whole group isn't limited to academics; many social and emotional skills are taught during this time as well. The kids are learning to listen while someone is talking. They are also learning to self-regulate by keeping their hands and feet to themselves. Stations are a great time for students to practice the skills we are learning. They love to grab a book and go lay on the rug and read, or grab a clipboard and go do their work on the rug
