I purchased a few of these sports books myself for my students and I can't keep them on the shelves. There's a waitlist to read the Shaq books, and some students are breezing through my collection. I am hoping to gather more sports books for these students to encourage their new interest in reading. I am also hoping to get a few sets of books to use for book club with my students. They are struggling readers, so it is helpful to have several students reading the same book at the same time so I can monitor comprehension and help them as a small group. Most of these kids would barely read before finding these sports books, and now they can't put the books down. For some of the students, these are their first chapter books! I am hoping to expand my book collection for them and help them achieve their grade level reading goals!
