I want students to enjoy reading independently. To give students more independent reading time, I have started to incorporate Flashlight Fridays. Students can bring in a flashlight and use those lights to read their books. Having a classroom set of flashlights will ensure everyone can enjoy Flashlight Fridays! I have noticed that some of my students are unable to bring a flashlight from home because they cannot afford flashlights. These students then have to sit in a group next to a lamp in the classroom. Flashlight Friday will help students find enjoyment in reading. I want everyone to participate and have fun on Flashlight Fridays!
