K-5 students in the music room experience a lot of different activities, including working in stations or centers. This year, we've added a lot of new activities that include LISTENING. Listening to music is one of the main ways that people experience music for the first time, whether it be on a TV show, in a movie, on the radio, etc. I like to challenge my students to listen to new things, new styles, genres, and music from the past. These materials will help us to start a listening station where students can listen to music without worrying about the other centers working around them. It also creates an environment free of distraction where students can learn.
