My first graders have many learning styles and love to have options within our classroom to work. Giving them choices within the classroom to do their very best work can be done with flexible seating. Traditional desks and chairs are NOT always the best fit. Some students do need a desk and chair. Some thrive when sitting on a wobble chair or standing at desk. Other students just need to sit with their legs crossed or on their knee's for their best thinking to happen. Providing my class with a low to the ground round table and soft seating with backs can do just this in our room.
