This is my second year teaching first grade and I want to make it a fun and exciting year for my kiddos! I want to start each morning on a fun and exciting note with STEM boxes for my students to ease into the day. The magnetic blocks, straw connectors, and interlocking disks, and engineering sets are all materials I plan to use in these boxes. This will allow students to think outside the box and build things I also want to incorporate more flexible seating with some cushions that can be used around the classroom, some stools for my back table, and "floating shelf" desks. The brackets will be used with pieces of wood on the walls as the “floating desks” around the room. These will be perfect spots during daily 5 for laptops, reading, or working on writing. The grey pocket organizer will be used to hold our individual ear buds for times when we have access to the computer cart or do our NWEA testing. The black pocket chart will be used to display our daily schedule. Our math curriculum is awesome and incorporates many hands on games into learning the concepts and the dice will be used to help children play these games in their table groups or with partners. Please help me make my classroom a place my kids are excited to come and learn in every day!
