Starting new this year, my school has Friday Clubs for all students from grades 3 through 5. The purpose of these clubs is to expose our students to activities that they would not normally get the opportunity to participate in. It also allows us to connect with students in nonacademic ways to build stronger relationships and to share our passion with them. I chose soccer because I have been playing since I was a little girl and hope that they will love playing just as I do! I also hope my club can help my students build teamwork and leadership skills that will be helpful to them inside the classroom as well. They will also get to exercise and move around first thing in the morning, which will help students be more focused and awake during class. These soccer balls will give me the means to really teach my students about the sport, and allow them to exercise while getting to know students they would not otherwise have met.
