My fourth graders work extra hard for motivation incentives. Stickers, inflatables, squishy animals, Japanese erasers and fidget spinners are the craze in my class. All kids want to matter and they work hard to show me learning growth in return for a simple motivation incentive. If it were that easy to purchase these small incentives monthly I would do it. Unfortunately this teacher is on a budget. Motivation incentives are just a simple way of saying to my kids "GOOD JOB!". All they want is praise for their hard work. Candy Land will be used as an incentive during recess for kids that just want to sit and play board games. I praise all of my kids because learning growth is important. With 57 students they all come in different levels. So instead of just focusing on just 100s and 90s we look at how much we grew from the previous weeks. The partitions will be used in my class to monitor those wondering eyes during our weekly spelling tests and six weeks exams. I hope all of these incentives will help motivate my kids to become successful.
