The hands-on nature of the projects that will use these supplies will enhance student engagement and learning, and help them excel in other areas as well. The tempera paint and palette paper is for a color wheel project. When I first introduced color theory to my class, many of my 8th graders did not know the primary colors. I want to have them create their own color wheels by mixing paints together. The cardboard looms, plastic needles, and yarn are for a weaving lesson. The "up and under" motion that is repeated while weaving increases concentration and mobility skills that I think are important for my students to learn.
