Many of my students do not have access to high quality literature. The best place they can experience this is in my classroom. By expanding my library with these nonfiction and fiction books, students can read books at their level while gaining knowledge and enjoying reading. This will help students be successful while we study different themes and topics throughout the school year. The books are either aligned to specific topics we will study through the Common Core standards or are titles my students are highly interested in and will motivate them to read regularly. This will encourage ownership of their own reading.
