Many of my students cannot afford reeds for their woodwind instruments. These reeds make it possible for the students to perform in band on a daily basis, which will improve their instrumental performance skills. It will also allow them to perform for friends, family and community at our public performances. These reeds will give low-income students the ability to study music and will help to cultivate a life-long skill and love for the art. Woodwind instruments without reeds are like a car with no fuel. Without the reeds the instrument will not create a sound causing the student's contribution to their craft and to their ensemble to be halted.
