The iPads will enhance the learning and teaching of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) along with universal centers and classroom differentiation and intervention. In Math, we are looking at supporting students' mathematical learning in the area of fractions as well as helping integrate with ADD-Vantage Math Recovery (AVMR). We will use the iPads during math intervention, with engaging games and activities that reinforce key concepts. There are also literacy-based games and apps that we will use during independent reading time to reinforce word patterns, comprehension, and reading skills.
These programs will help students enjoy learning and experience success while filling in their learning gaps. Our classroom desires iPads because the apps developed are educational games only found on iPads. Grades 3-5 do not have everyday access to iPads. Of course, not every student learns in the same way, so the activities and games that can be done on iPads better help meet the needs of kinesthetic learners who can manipulate pictures or items on the screen.
