The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students are a colored laser printer and colored printing paper. These materials will be used in multiple ways within the classroom. My students' access to technology at home is very limited so having a printer allows them to be able to print directly from the computers within the classroom. One major way that these materials will be used is in the creation of their interactive notebooks. Students in my class have interactive notebooks in every subject. These interactive notebooks serve as a guide or reference book for new concepts that they learn such as vocabulary, charts, and pictures. Due to the lack of printing capabilities especially color prints, students are limited in the overall quality of their notebooks. The resources for their notebooks would be printed using the printer onto the colored printing paper and then cut and pasted into their notebooks. The printer would also be used to print resources for guided research projects throughout the year.
