Students at CIS are learning to be leaders through being part of the Leader In Me program. Students learn to take on the roles of leaders at our school. Those roles are anything from welcoming guests to our school, cleaning the cafeteria after lunch, leading an assembly, all the way to helping out with grounds work and student landscaping projects. In order for us to get many kids working on landscaping projects to beautify our grounds, we need the required equipment to get the job done. This will be an ongoing position for our students for years to come! The next place we would like to begin working on is a landscaping project down by where they have recess. At CIS, we collect bottle caps to be turned into benches. Kids, families, churches, and the community send in their caps and in turn, we have them made into benches. This would be our next big project. We would have benches made and then another area landscaped down in the recess area for kids to be able to sit in the shade and take a break from playing hard.
