We are requesting six Chromebooks, cases, headsets and mouse devices. I have a Chromebook cart that can charge six more Chrome books. Our site does not allow students to check out a Chromebook for home use. If my project is funded, students will be able to check out a Chromebook and use it at home. Every week, I hear multiple students ask for time extensions because they do not have computer access at home. As education moves toward online assignments, students without computers have a huge disadvantage. My students write essays, narratives, and projects through Google Classroom, which allows me to view their progress and make suggestions for improvement as they write. The fires burned so much, but not the students' desire to excel and achieve in a technology driven society. They need access to computers, and six Chrome books would give them that necessity.
