I teach 7th grade Reading and 8th grade ELA and I cannot explain how important and beneficial these materials would be in our classroom. Our classroom library was affected by Hurricane Harvey and these materials will replace what was lost and more. These materials will help create a tranquil area for the class to take a journey through the pages of our books and allow them to construct and establish their classroom work. The use of the teacher desk and table will allow me to assist a small group of students with any additional instruction they need to help them succeed in their learning. The alternative seating arrangements will provide stability for small group instruction and allow each student to focus on their work. A personal printer in the classroom will allow an easier access to create work without interfering with class instruction. The mobile podium with storage "cubicles", will provide easy access for my students to collect work, folders and journals for their class. To keep student work and assessments organized, a small, mobile filing cabinet would provide the best storage and organization. Furthermore, the rug, book case and bean-bag chairs will act as a flexible seating area to give the students an alternative learning experience and give them a more comfortable environment to learn in.
