Science-based studies show that working environments that provide opportunities for flexible seating help to establish an inclusive environment where all students' physical and emotional needs can be met. Flexible seating would allow for more collaboration and would foster a more inviting and equitable environment where all students feel comfortable and can focus on learning. This space would mostly support students working in groups or pairs for Science projects and lab assignments. Studies show that teachers who are able to offer flexible seating choices and opportunities saw a dramatic decrease in the number of disciplinary interactions, a huge increase in student motivation and participation, and an overall improved classroom climate/culture.
