My students are 7th graders located in low income communities of Southern California. The school is a small charter school, with roughly 105 students per grade level and 26-28 students per class. Due to the small class size, the school has become a very tight-knit community. The students are hardworking, extremely creative, and aspiring to be the first generation in their families who are college-bound. In addition, they love science and especially the human body, but are deprived of many visual resources because of school budget cuts.
