I cannot think of a more important gift to give a child than the gift of reading. First grade is the year of tremendous growth in the area of reading. Our first graders are expected to grow 6 levels by the end of first grade. This classroom library project will allow students a wider range of books for choose from to grow their love of learning and their mastery of reading skills throughout the first grade year. Over the years our beloved books become worn because of the use by students and this would allow me to replace those books.
