I would love to give my students the opportunity to use Lego Mindstorm kits to build and program robots. Students will first build their robots using Lego bricks including a programmable brick. After the robot is built, students will be challenged to program the robot to complete specified tasks. Critical thinking and problem solving skills will be developed and honed by these logic-based challenges. Students must make calculations and then test and adjust these to fit the the circumstances of the challenge. This is a wonderful way for my students to experience science and math and it will provide relevance to them.
