Having the two iPads and Osmo Genius kits will give my students with diverse needs a leg up on learning. In my below-grade level reading group, we break into stations. One main focus I have in one of the stations is based around vocabulary and spelling, a challenge for these students (especially my ELLs.) Using Osmo "Words" for this station will provide a new and exciting interactive experience to encourage them. In math stations, Osmo "Numbers" and "Tangrams" would help my above-grade level students increase fluency with facts and with geometry. Osmo "Masterpiece" will allow my students to draw maps in social studies. "Letters" will also provide help with vocabulary in content areas. Osmo can also be used collaboratively by a few students to work toward a specific goal! The more time they put "eyes" on the iPad, the more chance they have to succeed. Having had the chance to see this technology in use in other classrooms and the excitement the students have using it, I know it will be a much sought after tool. I hope this is just the beginning of improvements to our new space.
