There are so many amazing Apple apps available for children with special needs. My students will greatly benefit from access to iPads to assist them with their fine motor difficulties and poor hand eye coordination. Many of my students find it extremely difficult to manipulate a mouse, so using laptops and computers can be stressful for them. All of my students have speech and language impairments and would be able to use the iPads for literacy and vocabulary expansion. Many times, traditional instruction does not engage students with special needs, so the hands-on, highly interactive experience that technology can provide is very useful in the special education classroom.
