School should be where children make some of their most influential memories. Parents should be excited to see and hear about what their children are learning and working on. A picture is worth 1000 words. Showing families what we are working on in the classroom so they can continue teaching at home. Having access to film (for close up, still photos) and colored printer with ink (action photos) allows me to capture a variety of memories for the students and use for multiple projects to share with families. Many of my students are non-verbal or only make 2-3 word utterances. Having the ability to send home photos of students working in the classroom and accomplishing milestones to share with families would be amazing. As an educator I am beyond excited to witness my students growth but having the ability to share that growth in the classroom with families via sending home pictures is even more exciting. This project will help bridge the communication gap by allowing my students to share with their families all that they are doing and accomplishing while also giving families the opportunity to celebrate their child's achievements.
