These materials will make a difference in my bilingual students learning experience by placing a tool in their hands that many have never been exposed to and allowing them to take control of their own learning. The Chromebooks will be used to engage students in critical writing skills, typing skills, technology projects and most importantly to conduct running records by themselves. With this tool they will be able to listen to themselves read and improve their fluency. I strongly believe that if they become fluent readers they will become confident learners willing to take educational risks. Some of my students are new to this country and have not developed the confidence to read aloud but introducing them to the Chromebooks with the head set will help them feel secure knowing they will improve by taking running records.
