This project is designed to meet the needs of different groups of students who are currently developing academic and social skills while developing English as their second language. They are failing two or more classes and have a high rate of absenteeism. Our students need Chromebooks and licenses to use various educational programs and resources which help them to practice and increase their English language skills and remain engaged in the classroom. Students will use Chromebooks to read books on RAZ Kids, learn new vocabulary on Quizlet, practice writing and grammar skills on MobyMax, do homework, create online projects, use different online platforms and much more! These Chromebooks will help students to be more engaged in the classroom, grasp concepts better and learn and prepare for a future in a technology filled world. Students will learn and practice valuable technology skills along with important information, that will help them to compete in this competitive global economy. Most of our students do not have access to computers and technology at home and could greatly benefit from the use of computers in the classroom.
