Right now, our Scholar's Bowl team is without a buzzer system. Ours went missing this year -- due to theft, we assume, because our rival teams would have informed us if we simply left them behind at a tournament. This lack of equipment prevents us from practicing productively, and makes our attendance at tournaments around the state subject to the charity of the host. We want independence. We want to contribute. Fortunately, our host schools have had big hearts heretofore. But without a buzzer system, we feel like we're missing something fundamental to what it means to be a Scholar's Bowl team.
