We are currently not allowed to sing in the music class. My students love to actively participate in making music each week, so using instruments becomes an important way in helping them develop musical skills We don't currently have an adequate numbers of instruments for our Pre-K through 1st grade students to use individually, and with Covid precautions, students cannot share instruments. I plan to purchase child-friendly Rhythm Band xylophones because they are colorful, simplified instruments that my younger students students will use to learn melodies of favorite songs. Students will love having their own instrument in class, and it will be a great way to teach musical concepts during the times we cannot sing. These instruments and mallets can also be easily cleaned and sanitized so that multiple classes can enjoy them. The colorful design will allow me to use a color-based system of learning melodies which will be helpful for our youngest learners. Students will have lots of fun with these child-friendly instruments.
