Stories provide an insight into the world as seen by a specific culture. Music can help to enhance the experience of stories by providing aesthetically pleasing sounds that compliment the tale. Students will connect with Multicultural stories from collections like "Sound Stories" & "Tapestry of Tales" by creating dances, dramas and musical accompaniments to the stories. Musical Instruments, such as the African Talking Drum, Castanets, and the Singing Bowl, will be matched with the stories from around the world by region. In an effort to provide culturally accurate and appropriate education, stories from around the world will be paired with instruments that are authentic to that region.
