My students need reading and phonics centers to help them with every day reading instruction. Reading and phonics centers are so important to aid in the learning process. They need concrete centers and manipulatives so they can practice daily. We need more materials to help the students work in pairs and groups. Kindergarten students are learning how to decode words and they need to practice using these different centers. Hurricane Harvey had our school displaced all over the district. We are back in our building. We are trying to use a variety of teaching strategies and manipulatives. We are trying to get the kids where they need to be before they go to first grade.
