As a bilingual teacher where most of my content is taught in Spanish, I have noticed that it has been harder to get my kids excited about reading in Spanish. My students generally prefer books in English, but alas, I have found the solution! I surveyed my class about what books in Spanish they desired to read and the verdict was... El Ladrón de Rayo! This high level interest book will help my non native and native Spanish speakers have access to higher level vocabulary, a chance to participate in higher level conversations around literature and chance to help them develop and sustain a love for reading!
