My students have been working so hard this year, attempting to do their very best at every concept they've been introduced to. As we work hard every day, I have noticed that my students prefer sitting in nonconventional ways. They gravitate towards my butterfly chair, and even using lap desk or clip boards to work on the floor! As a first year teacher, I am providing all of the flexible seating options that I can afford on my own. I believe that adding the yoga balls, stolls, carpet squares, and other storage materials will create a more comfortable classroom environment that will allow my students to feel more capable and result in higher participation, self esteem, and ultimately higher student success rates!
