My students are all from low-income homes and receive free school lunch. For the majority of my students, English is not their first language. They struggle to learn English but they always try their best. My students come in every day with wide eyes, ready and eager to learn. They like to move, love to explore and love lots of positive attention. They are our future. What better way to encourage them to grow and learn than from using new and unfamiliar materials. A lot of the students I come across don't have physical movement on a daily basis at home. Being a physical education teacher allows me to instill in them healthy habits in which they can bring home and teach their families.
