Research has shown that students who are allowed to sit in flexible, comfortable, seating options are more engaged and focused. With the funding of this project, I would like to offer my students a variety of seating options based on what fits their individual needs. Stability balls, seat cushions, and floor mats will join the bean bag chair and comfy carpet we already have in our room. We ALL have a hard time staying engaged sitting in hard, uncomfortable chairs for long periods of time! My students would be able to work in a space that allows them to focus and be comfortable, keeping them engaged and allowing them to complete assignments and utilize their time more wisely.
