This year I have the pleasure of working with 24 third graders who love school and learning. They are movers who love to stretch and engage in the learning process in comfort. Desks and chairs can get so boring, and some of my students have difficulty staying on task with this setting. Having the opportunity to move around the room can help these students stay engaged and on task. Movement is beneficial to all students particularly those who have difficulty focusing. The crate seats and stools will allow students to sit comfortably at the tables we have that are set at different levels. For students with significant difficulty maintaining attention and controlling their bodies, the introduction of the wobble stool and exercise balls has had a calming effect, allowing them to focus. Much of the recent brain research done in education indicates that movement is directly linked to improved learning.
