Help me bring the outdoors in this winter! Having plants in the classroom add natural color, texture, smells, science experiences, and responsibility to our classroom. Planting seeds and watching them grow helps children learn about the growth process, the environment and the foods they eat. My students will learn how to grow and care for consumable plants! Through these gardening projects, we will also focus on the character trait of responsibility. The children will have to take care of the seeds as they grow into plants. They will monitor the soil and water as needed. They will maintain a clean environment for the plants, and will learn when and how to harvest the edible plants. Having an indoor garden will teach the students to work together for a common goal.
