My students need books about STEM, inventions, and engineers. They see entry level, blue collar jobs because their parents and older siblings have those jobs. While those jobs are needed and admirable, they need to see examples of engineers and inventors so they can set their sights higher. The books that were selected have both male and female characters and are in the fields of engineering, architecture, piloting, and beyond. Having this text available for independent reading, class discussion, and inspiration in our classroom library, will give the students what they need to achieve their goals beyond their expectations. I look forward to having these books in our library and appreciate you taking the time to read this.
